The location of my observations will take place at the elk refuge. The park size is about 25,000 acres. The general location of the site is east Jackson. The park's habitat is ideal for elk. Because the elk refuge is mainly grassland, the main types of plants include many species of grasses and sagebrush. There are streams that provide water to animals. No trees are in the elk refuge so there is not great protection from weather. There is one large hill that sits in the eastern side of the refuge that provides some shelter from some elements. The types of abiotic factors include rocks, water, and soil. The dominating population of the elk refuge is elk. They are most abundant during late fall, winter and early spring. They stay at the refuge to get food for the winter and mate. Every year, nearly 7,500 elk stay at ther refuge during the winter. The main predators to elk are wolves and occasional grizzly bears. There are more than 50 other mammal species and 147 bird species that live in the area, including trumpeter swans. Because of the diverse number of living animals and plants within the National Elk Refuge, it is beneficial to the ecosystem of Jackson Hole.

Fantastic first post regarding the details you included about your area. You are already making links about the importance of the biodiversity of the area. To improve the flow of future posts see how you can combine thoughts and ideas in sentences to avoid making it sound like a list of facts. Overall, good job! 14/15
